Information relating to wedding cancellation claims

Due to queries concerning the evolving COVID-19 situation, insurer’s claims handling providers are experiencing a much higher than normal volume of calls and so you may find that this may result in you experiencing some delays in relation to the processing of your claim. Insurers advise that they are committed to serving policyholder as soon as is possible.

Should you need to claim under the policy, the following is the position regarding the reporting of claims to insurers:

It is required that you notify insurers as soon as possible. The insurer’s claims handling service provider’s number is 0044 344 412 4296. You will need to quote the Irish Wedding Insurance scheme reference number (which is 06755A. Please also mention “CSP Wedding binder”) and also your policy number. The policy requires that written notice of any event which may give rise to a claim should be notified to insurers as soon as practicable so we would suggest that you do this following the telephone notification. Insurers are experiencing a high volume of calls at the moment and so I would recommend advising notification of your claim also by email to dgtsnewclaims@directgroup.co.uk. Please note that you may experience a delay before your email is addressed.

Information relating to wedding not cancelled, but postponed

If you have been able to rearrange your wedding without additional cost, cover in respect of the rearranged wedding may be applied for as long as the rearranged wedding date does not exceed 24 months from the date you contact us and is on the condition that you have not already claimed against your policy. An extra premium may apply in respect of this alteration.

If you are satisfied that you are in compliance with the above criteria and would like us to issue a revised policy certificate (noting the rearranged wedding details) can you please forward to us (at info@irishweddinginsurance.ie)  copy of the policy certificate issued to you previously and confirm also the revised wedding and reception dates and locations?

Please note that policy Terms and Conditions apply. Copy of the policy wording is available here.
